3meel.ai ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text).

Uploaded Content

PDF documents you upload are stored in S3-compatible object storage. Document text is extracted and stored in our database for indexing purposes.

Usage Data

We collect usage metrics including documents indexed, queries made, and storage used. This data is used for billing enforcement and to improve the Service.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Polar.sh. We do not store your credit card details. We store your Polar customer ID and subscription ID for billing management.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To process your documents using AI (OpenAI GPT-4o-mini) for tree-index generation and query answering
  • To send transactional emails (welcome, password reset) via Resend
  • To enforce plan limits and billing
  • To communicate service updates and important notices

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate:

  • Neon — Database hosting (PostgreSQL). Your account data, document metadata, and indexes are stored here.
  • S3-compatible object storage — Object storage for your uploaded PDF files. Current deployments may use Backblaze B2 or compatible providers.
  • OpenAI — Document text is sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model to generate summaries and answer queries. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to this processing.
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery.
  • Polar.sh — Subscription billing and payment processing.
  • Upstash — Redis for background job queuing (no personal data stored).

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your data including: account information, knowledge bases, documents, tree indexes, API keys, and uploaded PDF files from object storage.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including: encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, row-level security on database tables, presigned URLs with short TTLs for file access, and API key authentication with bcrypt hashing.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — View your account data from the dashboard
  • Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data at any time
  • Portability — Download your uploaded documents at any time
  • Correction — Update your account information from the settings page

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and optional analytics cookies if you explicitly accept them. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service.
